Hexion's Springfield site donates N95 masks to local hospital

A shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) — including masks, N95 respirators, and gowns — is challenging health workers’ ability to respond to the coronavirus pandemic in the United States and around the world. This has caused doctors and nurses to reuse gear in ways that put themselves and patients at risk of infection.

Among the resources running dangerously low are N95 respirators, the masks that cup the face closely and have been approved by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to block the inhalation of 95 percent of small airborne particles.

The medical community has called on those that are able to donate these N95 masks to help minimize this shortage. Our Springfield associates heard this call and stepped up, donating 40 masks to the local Riverbank hospital. The hospital was extremely grateful for the donation.
