Advanced Testing Services (ATS) Laboratory


Hexion Inc. remains committed to providing independent testing services and consulting for various wood products through its Advanced Testing Services (ATS) laboratory in Springfield, Oregon.

The ATS laboratory is an independent, accredited testing center that provides formaldehyde emissions and volatile organic compounds testing of engineered-wood products. This testing is required of manufacturers by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and other regulatory bodies. To ensure the highest standards of testing integrity, ATS is certified annually to the ISO/IEC 17025 standard that covers testing and calibration methods. The ATS lab is a world-class operation that has been recognized by CARB and the U.S. EPA for its expertise.

In November 2016, Jeff Swartzentruber, Senior Manager, Product Stewardship, assumed governance and oversight responsibilities for the ATS laboratory.
